The Dr Redfin 15’ float rod is built without compromise, embedding lessons from
a half-century of catching big roach.
Rod blank, constructed from highest-specification 1k carbon weave, is tailored for
lightness, strength and optimal balance between sensitivity and power when trotting
and playing fish at range… fast but gentle and perfect for Wallis casting! Handle
dimensions and structure, using highest-grade of cork throughout including the area
under the hand above a reel seat that screws down securely for both centrepin and
fixed spool reels. (Who wants to hold a plastic reel seat all day!) Ring spacing
and types optimise blank action and strength, double-legged around each joint for
strength and folding into an exact zig-zag when the rod is broken down for fast starts
and packing up when fishing. Other rings are single-legged for lightness. Custom
whippings and graphics finish the job.
I have found it perfect for roach, bagging this 2lb 5oz fish during field testing,
and it has also been just great for crucians, grayling and dace too!
